Emergency Crews Respond To Highway 75, Murray Road Accidents

NEBRASKA CITY – Emergency responders were called Saturday morning to accidents in Otoe and Cass counties.

Lisa Rathjen, 51, of Auburn escaped injury on Saturday when her Ford Taurus struck a semi-trailer on Highway 75 south of Nebraska City.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office says the Taurus crossed the center line just enough to make contact with the back tire of the trailer prior to 10:30 a.m.

Although her front tire was shredded and there was impact damage to the driver’s door, the woman maintained control of the car enough to slow to a stop on the highway shoulder.
She told investigators she was on her way to an Auburn volleyball game.

In Cass County, Murray Fire and Rescue responded to a roll-over accident east of Highway 75 on Murray Road. Multiple ambulances were called.

A 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Mikayla J. Frost of Bellevue rolled after entering the ditch.

Murray rescue transported passengers, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old from Plattsmouth, to UNMC by Murray rescue.
