SYRACUSE – Parks Director Jill Crook and Pool Manager Jamy Prokopec asked the Syracuse City Council Wednesday for a new pool house at the aquatic center.
Prokopec said a Facebook page has been established asking for public donations and accepting public comment.
Councilman Alan Britton said there is support for the new pool house, but financing is an issue.
The council asked Prokopec to review the blue prints of the current pool house, make recommendations and then reach out to an architect for a conceptual plan of a new facility.
Carolyn Gigstad agreed to write a grant and apply for financial assistance.
Brady Reichmuth of Syracuse organized a swim-a-thon, which raised over $1,000 to be given to the city, towards the pool house
