Fairbury and Crete Fans Travel to Support Their Softball Teams

HASTINGS – Despite Wednesday morning’s cold weather, fans from local teams traveled in waves to Hastings for the State Softball Tournament.

The sun came out just in time for Fairbury’s win. The game began with a home run from Cora DeBoer. Her grandfather, David Trebold, was there to see it.

“I think if they continue to play the way they played this morning, they’ll be able to win the game this afternoon. Then look forward to getting to that championship on Friday.”

After the Jeffs topped the Fillmore Central/Exeter-Milligan Panthers, Crete fans began to show up. Bruce Leonard tells News Channel Nebraska that he has family coming in from Colorado and Stanford University to cheer on his granddaughter, Emily Dunaway.
