Feighner Enters Plea To Attempted Arson After Spirit Shoppe Explosion

FALLS CITY – April Feighner of Falls City entered a no contest plea to attempted arson at the Spirit Shoppe on Sept. 18.

Feighner was arrested after she spoke with inmates at the Richardson County Detention Center regarding a foot-long “firecracker.” Prosecutors say Feighner used the firecracker in  an attempt to damage an ice machine on property owned by the family of Police Chief Duane Armbruster.

The explosion reportedly broke a window of the store and rattled merchandise inside the building.

In a plea agreement, a felony charge of using an explosive was reduced to misdemeanor use of an explosive without an permit.

Her bond was reduced to a $1,000 provision and sentencing is scheduled on April 30.
