FAIRBURY – Little details are known at the moment, but News Channel Nebraska was on the scene of a fire that occurred in downtown Fairbury.
A visitor from out of state, April Crowell, saw the smoke as she drove through town and pulled over.
She tells News Channel Nebraska, “I’m visiting from Minnesota, visiting my brother. Coming from the campground I saw black smoke in the air. I drove by the street here, right before the fire trucks came, the city came first. The transformers were on fire and there was fire in the alleyway.”
The fire occurred off of D Street, in between 5th and 6th Streets on late Friday afternoon.
No details have yet to be confirmed by the Fairbury Fire Department.
