Firefighters Sent to Douse Dumpster Fire

BEATRICE – Beatrice Firefighters were dispatched to a North 6th Street property on Saturday, for a fire in a large construction Dumpster.

Captain Corey Lieneman says investigators are not sure of the cause, but boxes were being thrown into the dumpster and officials theorize something hot was disposed of.

The dumpster was between two houses.  The heat from the fire melted a plastic shutter on one of the homes but did no other damage.

Firefighters were sent to the area of Sixth and Summit at 1:19 p.m. and were on the scene for just over a half-hour.
