BEATRICE – Law officers from multiple agencies arrested four people on warrants Monday, part of a drug investigation dubbed “Operation Claim Stake”.
The arrests are the result of a months-long investigation into illegal drug use and sales in Beatrice and Gage County. A total of 15-to-17 law officers split into teams and made the arrests in Beatrice, Odell and Virginia. Beatrice Police Investigator Shane Mololey says more arrests are possible. He says Monday’s arrests took place without incident.
Authorities arrested one male suspect at his place of employment in Beatrice, and a female suspect at a residence in Odell. A third person was arrested during the stop of a garbage truck in south Beatrice and the fourth, at a home in the town of Virginia.
Christopher Simpson was arrested for alleged distribution of a controlled substance within one-thousand feet of a playground.
Dawn Meyer was detained on suspicion of possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
Wade Padgett was arrested for alleged distribution of a controlled substance within one thousand feet of a school.
Phillip Olin was arrested for possession and distribution of a controlled substance. Olin was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
