Highway 2, Curb Work Scheduled To Begin This Week

LINCOLN – Road work is also scheduled to begin this week on Highway 2 between Syracuse and Nebraska City.

Scodeller Construction of Wixom, Mich., has the $4.6 million contract for pavement repair and striping.

Traffic will be maintained by using lane closures. Project completion is anticipated later in the summer.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation expects work to begin Monday on curb ramp construction in Syracuse, Tecumseh, Brock, Falls City, Humboldt and other locations in the road district.

Van Kirk Sand & Gravel, Inc., of Sutton, Nebraska, has the $321,000 contract. For ramp construction, paving, grading and seeding.

Sidewalks will be closed and pedestrian traffic will be detoured.  Traffic will be maintained with lane closures, and flaggers may be used during the pavement construction.  Anticipated completion is October 2019.
