Home Severely Damaged by Fire

NORFOLK – Investigators are still working to determine the cause of a fire that tore through a home on Norfolk’s northwest side.

Norfolk Fire Captain Lannce Grothe says his division was called to the home on North Deer Run Drive at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Grothe says firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke…and needed to call for help from the Hadar and Battle Creek Fire departments.

In all, 37 firefighters were needed to get the blaze under control after about 40 minutes.

No one was hurt.
