STANTON – Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in the Elkhorn River.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says human remains were found along the Elkhorn River Tuesday evening.
Sheriff Unger says the remains likely washed out of the Elkhorn during the recent flooding. he says it appears the body had been underwater for an extended period of time.
Unger said the remains are not those of Scott Goodman, who was washed away during the flash flooding in Norfolk.
An investigation is ongoing. Unger said a ground search was done Wednesday morning and forensic experts will be called in to help identify the body.
