Humboldt Man Charged With Threats, Despite Gun Warnings

FALLS CITY – A Richardson County man faces felony charges that he threatened the life of a family on a farm southeast of Humboldt.

Three counts of terroristic threats are filed against 51-year-old Kent Cooper on Sept. 17.

An arrest affidavit says Cooper is accused of knocking out a car window with a baseball bat. Although he had a handgun pointed at him at one point and a warning shot was later fired from a shotgun, the affidavit says Cooper continued to make threats against Eric and Amanda Book and JD Cooper.

The affidavit says Cooper was ordering the victims and their children to leave the farm.
