Incumbents Fare Well In Beatrice School Board Primary

BEATRICE – Eight of nine candidates have now advanced to the November General Election in the race for Beatrice School Board.

Incumbent Doris Martin had the most votes, at 1,801, followed by challenger Matt Langley, with 1,449.   Board president Jon Zimmerman finished third, with 1,410.  New candidate Eric Trusty came in fourth, with 1,221.

Fifth place went to former board member Monte Lofing, who received 1,177 votes.  Sixth went to Erin Chadwick, with 1,055.  The seventh position is held by Eric Book, with 655 votes, and Andrew Pinney captured the eighth position, with 485.

Eugene Fiester was eliminated in the primary, with 400 votes.

Four persons will be chosen in the November General Election, as the Beatrice Board of Education increases in size, from six members, to seven.
