Johnson County Considers Drug Court Expansion

TECUMSEH – The Johnson County Board met with Amanda VanAsperen on Jan. 8 regarding a proposed drug court.

District Judge Julie Smith is encouraging counties to expand the program into Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee and Richardson counties.

Johnson County would finance under 15 percent of the total for the five counties.

Amanda Burki of Johnson County Emergency Management said she has been driving the roads to supply the Nemaha NRD with 911 addresses for Iron Horse and Wirth Brothers recreation areas.
