Johnson County Water District Receives USDA Loan

WASHINGTON – A rural water district in Nebraska is among recipients of $116 million in federal Department of Agriculture funds to rebuild and improve water systems.

Johnson County Rural Water District 1 will use a $298,000 loan to provide additional financing to replace water mains, install new lines, repaint the standpipe and replace a well pump.

The rural water district’s 2,024 customers are among 171,000 nationally to benefit by the USDA water investments.

Investments in rural Infrastructure is a key recommendation of the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity.
