Jones Denies Separate Escape Attempt Prior To Taser Incident

NEBRASKA CITY – County Judge Robert Wester set a $200 bond provision for 46-year-old Chad Jones of Nebraska City on Monday.

Jones told the judge there a mix up on court dates in Nemaha County, so a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police say when they attempted to serve the warrant, Jones resisted. He is charged with felony escape.

Deputy Otoe County Attorney John Palmtag said Jones was apprehended after he was tasered.

Jones told the judge he may have resisted a little, but did not understand why he is being charged with escape.  He said he is worried that he will lose his job because of the Nebraska City arrest.
