Juilfs Given 300 Days After Fleeing In Pickup Truck

NEBRASKA CITY – Joel Juilfs, 47, of Bennet has been sentenced to 300 days in jail for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest on Aug. 2.

His license was revoked two years and he is sentenced to 12 months of post release supervision.

Prosecutors say Juilfs refused to stop his pickup truck when sheriff deputies initiated a traffic stop on Highway 2 near Palmyra.

Juilfs reportedly drove around a barricade on County Road 2 with deputies in pursuit. He drove around another barricade indicating bridge out.

He then left the road and went into a corn field and across a construction zone. Deputies cornered the pickup with service weapons drawn and identified the driver as Juilfs.
