Knife Report Results in Meth Arrest At Library

NEBRASKA CITY – Police arrested 40-year-old Jason Betts Saturday after responding to a person with a knife at the public library.

An arrest affidavit says police were also responding to a report that man entered a house on Fifth Corso and took a black tablet.

Police say Betts was in possession of the tablet and a knife at the library. Betts  told investigators someone at the library had given him the tablet.

Police say during a search, methamphetamine was found in Betts’ possession.

Betts is scheduled for preliminary hearing Oct. 29 on possession and theft charges.
