BEATRICE – A Lincoln woman was injured Friday in a rollover accident near Adams, where black ice on the roadway was a factor.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office reports that a northbound Jeep driven by Jessica Ashby hit a patch of ice while passing a northbound semitrailer truck. Her vehicle went off Nebraska Highway 43 into the west ditch, where it rolled, struck an embankment and came to rest on the passenger side.
Ashby was taken to a Lincoln hospital by an Adams Rescue unit. Law officers say she had non-life-threatening injuries in the 6:35 a.m. accident.
Adams Fire and Rescue and Cortland Fire officials responded to the accident scene, on Highway 43 near East Ash Road…two miles north of Adams.
Sheriff’s investigators say the driver was not wearing a safety restraint.
