BROKEN BOW–After two months on the city square Lillie Kate Boutique officially joins the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce. The online-only turned brick-and-mortar business features primarily women’s and children’s clothing and is ready for the Christmas season. Owners Melanee and Jon Nixon, their daughters Lillian and Katelyn, and boutique staff celebrated a ribbon cutting on Thursday afternoon with Lieutenant Governor Mike Foley in attendance.

“It’s been such a humbling experience, the town has been amazing. They’ve been very supportive. So we’re just very grateful for everyone that came and helped and supported us. It’s a really good feeling, I’m enjoying it a lot,” Melanee Nixon said on opening Lillie Kate Boutique.

Lt. Governor Foley spoke high praises for the boutique and the community as a whole, calling Broken Bow a “gem of a community” and a great place to raise children. He told the ribbon cutting crowd he was pleased to help celebrate a successful business on the square.

“To keep these kind of communities alive and vibrant–it takes smart people with a good entrepreneurial spirit who are going to step up and say ‘we’re going to run a business and it’s going to work,'” Lt. Governor Foley said.
