Man Asleep at the Wheel Arrested for Drugs, Warrants

NORFOLK – A Plainview man is in jail after he was found asleep at the wheel Thursday morning.

Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer says 36-year old Timothy Johnson was arrested Thursday. Officers were called to Ta Ha Zouka Park just after 6 a.m. Thursday after someone reported a man asleep at the wheel of a pickup and with his feet hanging out the front door.

Police identified Johnson when they arrived, and determined that he had an active warrant in Stanton County for non-payment of court costs related to a disturbing the peace case.

After arresting Johnson, officers say they found methamphetamine in his truck as well. Johnson is currently housed in the Madison County Jail.
