Officers Converge On Manhunt In Wayne County

PIERCE – Officers from Stanton, Wayne, and Pierce County come together on a manhunt of a suspect throughout multiple counties Tuesday night.

According to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, a response to a call about an erratic driver lead to two deputies pursuing the suspect throughout Stanton and Wayne county after the suspect refused to stop. The suspect is believed to also be the subject of other disturbance calls over the last week, and was arrested Monday night before being released on bond.

Officers pursued the suspect through county roads, before the suspect entered a farm field on the corner of 559th Ave and 853rd Rd. in Wayne County. An Air Wing from the state patrol, as well as canine units were brought in to assist in the search.

The suspect was ultimately apprehended by the Randolph Police Department, and was transported to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. This story will continue to be updated as more details become available.
