Meth Suspect Reports No Sleep In Days

AUBURN – A methamphetamine suspect told Nemaha County sheriff’s deputies he had not slept in days after someone matching his description was seen looking into car windows in Ariens parking lot Dec. 7.

Court records say Gregory Ward, 24, told deputies he was traveling to Omaha, but his friend dropped him off at Auburn and left. Ariens’ employees had earlier called police to report a man going car to car in the parking lot, looking into windows.

Deputies say a search of Ward’s backpack revealed 17 syringes  and a substance that field tested for meth.

He is scheduled for preliminary hearing Jan. 9.
