NEBRASKA CITY – A 20-year-old Nebraska City man has been charged in Otoe County court on allegations of whipping his pregnant wife and holding a knife to her throat.
An arrest affidavit says police responded to the Seventh Avenue residence of Marcellus Fuller on June 8, where they made contact with Fuller’s wife.
The affidavit says the woman, who is eight months pregnant, described two separate incidents that began the day before. She told investigators that she turned her back while being hit with a belt so that her stomach would not be hurt. She said Fuller held a knife to her throat the night before.
Police say rescue squad responders reported seeing marks on her body that could have been caused by a belt.
Fuller is charged with use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats and domestic assault.
Fuller is scheduled for preliminary hearing on July 10. A $5,000 bond provision was set.
