Nebraska City Woman Faces Felony Charge After Knife Injury

NEBRASKA CITY – A Nebraska City woman has been charged with felony domestic assault on allegations that she stabbed her husband on March 11.

Elaina Wonders, 33, told police she swung a knife in her husband’s direction to scare him. She said he had kicked down a door and she used the knife when he came at her.

Police say the couple had separated. The man said Wonders invited him over to collect his belongings, but as he packed, she grabbed and scratched his arm.

He was treated by Nebraska City Rescue for a laceration on his arm.

An arrest affidavit says Wonders described an attack, but investigators found no sign of personal injuries to Wonders or evidence that a door had been kicked in.
