Nebraska City Woman Injured In Construction Zone Crash

NEBRASKA CITY – A Nebraska City woman was treated at CHI Health St. Mary’s Wednesday following a Highway 2 traffic accident with airbag deployment.

36-year-old Lindsey Alkire suffered moderate injuries and her 2015 Ford Mustang had damages estimated at $12,000.

An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office report indicates that Alkire attempted to pass an eastbound  2002 Ford Explorer, driven by 29-year-old Sierra Ann Achenbach of Randolph, Iowa. The Mustang overtook the Explorer on the highway shoulder. The Mustang then spun sideways into the median, striking two road signs in a construction zone.
