Nemaha County Cases Allege Meth, Insurance Fraud, Burglary

AUBURN – Mindy Scott, 52, of Auburn is scheduled for preliminary hearing June 5 on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped Scott on Highway 75 after recognizing her as a subject of a Douglas County arrest warrant.

The deputy told the court that he found smoking pipes with methamphetamine residue in her vehicle and on her person.

A bond was set at $2,500.

AUBURN – An Auburn man is scheduled for a May 16 arraignment on a charge of insurance fraud.

Nemaha County prosecutors say Stephen L. Drake, 49, claimed the loss of an electronic tester called a Fluke DTX1800 at a cost of $37,400.

The claim was made to Farm Bureau Insurance.

AUBURN – Heath Tilson, 39, is charged with burglary at a residence on Main Street in Johnson.

Prosecutors say Tilson broke into the house with intention of stealing property on Feb. 14.
