BEATRICE – Gage Area Growth Enterprise, known as NGage, has elected two new board members and reelected a long-time board member.
During the economic development organization’s annual meeting Tuesday night, Tracy Garnett-Froscheiser of Garnett Investment Strategies and Erin Dorn, a Beatrice Community Hospital Physician Assistant were newly elected.
Andrea Schafer, of Pinnacle Bank was reelected and was reelected as Chairperson of the Board. James Lenners will serve as Vice-Chairman replacing long-time Vice-Chairman Patrick Ratigan, who did not seek another term. Darin Baehr was elected as Treasurer, and Matt Morrissey as Secretary.
The guest speaker was Erica Estrada, an Economic Development Specialist with Newmark Knight Frank, a Texas-based firm. She said despite a strong economic development effort, the Beatrice area does faces challenges it must address. One is population and workforce.
Estrada says getting everyone on board with addressing specific challenges is important.

Estrada says the area is being affected by migration patterns….people who don’t live here, but work here…….or people who live here, but work elsewhere. She says it takes the efforts of everyone to recruit target-market businesses and attract employees.
