Norris’ Jim Jacobsen stepping down after nine seasons as football coach

FIRTH – Norris head football coach Jim Jacobsen has stepped down after nine seasons.

Norris went 45-45 during his tenure, with five playoff appearances. His 2012 team went 10-3 and reached the Class B championship game.

Norris is now the second local Class B school seeking a new football coach. Last week, Crete’s Reed Manstedt announced that he was taking the head coaching job at Waverly next season.

Manstedt will leave Crete after coaching the Cardinals for four seasons.
