Northeast Community College president announces retirement

NORFOLK, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – The head administrator at a Nebraska community college will be stepping down soon.

Northeast Community College President Doctor Michael Chipps announced Tuesday that he will be retiring at the end of this year.

Chipps started as Northeast president in February of 2012. Since then Northeast has added eight different athletic programs and added a number of new facilities including the extended campus building in O’Neill and the Nielsen Career and Technical Center in West Point which will hold a ribbon-cutting next month.

Doctor Chipps came to Northeast from Mid-Plains Community College and has served more than 40 years as a college administrator with other stops in Grand Island and Hastings.
