NPPD Alerts Residents To Phone Scame

BROWNVILLE – Nebraska Public Power District is alerting residents to a phone scam occurring in southeast Nebraska.

The public utility says people are receiving phone calls claiming to be NPPD demanding immediate payment.

The caller ID shows Cooper Nuclear Station, but NPPD says the calls are not originating there. NPPD says it does not demand payment by phone calls.

 

People receiving scam calls are asked to call 1-877-ASK-NPPD.
