PLATTSMOUTH – Nebraska Public Power District is hosting a Volt Bolt run and walk on Saturday, Oct. 7, and will be giving 35 oak trees for Oak Hill Cemetery and Garfield Park in Plattsmouth to replace many that were destroying during a windstorm in June.
Free trees are being offered to customers too. Fruitless pear and tulip trees will be given to the first 50 Plattsmouth residents show their NPPD bill.
The Volt Bolt begins at 8 a.m. at the Entertainment Plaza. Online registrations are taken through Friday.
A family power walk is open to all ages to support Pennies for Power, which helps pay energy costs for disadvantaged families.
