BEATRICE – After four decades of helping farmers and gardeners, the head of the Gage County Extension Office will be retiring from his University of Nebraska position.
Paul Hay is retiring at the end of September. He’s been the long-time Extension Agent Chairman in Gage County.
Extension agent Nicole Stoner says after 42 years of providing service to the area, “we don’t know what we’re going to do without him”.

An open house to honor Paul will be held Monday, October 2nd, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Stoner says Hay has been a great mentor for her. Hay earned his degree from Michigan State University. He is working Husker Harvest Days this week in Grand Island.
