BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s officers have released information on a two-vehicle accident March 3rd, that caused minor injuries to a youth in one of the vehicles.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of East Elm Road and South 5th Road near Pickrell, before eight a.m.

Authorities say 45-year-old Jason Karlin was driving a pickup south, and allegedly failed to yield to a westbound pickup driven by 31-year-old Molly Schaefer.

Following a collision, Karlin’s truck went into the southwest ditch, rolling onto its top.  He and two juveniles in the pickup were able to exit the vehicle.  One of the passengers was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital as a precaution.  Schaefer was not hurt.

Both drivers are from Pickrell.  Seatbelts were in use by all occupants.  Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire responded to the scene.
