BEATRICE – The Beatrice Community Preschool is continuing to be popular with parents of three and four-year-old children.
Enrollment figures were released to the Beatrice School Board Monday night, for the upcoming year.
Director of Early Childhood Development, Missy Timmerman says enrollment so far for next fall, has been a huge success.
The numbers include 88 three-year-old children, and there are 110 four-year-old children registered.

Timmerman says about 56-percent of the young enrollees are new to the school system, without other siblings in the district.
The program is required to reserve space for special education kids and Head Start. Timmerman says it would be possible to fill the preschool’s roster and have a waiting list.

Two reasons the district started the preschool program is to give kids a better start on their education, and to stem loss of students to other districts who have preschool offerings.
The Beatrice Community Preschool is located at the former Cedar Elementary building, in west Beatrice.
