Probation For Man Who Drank Alcohol On Work Release

AUBURN – A 26-year-old Nemaha man has been sentenced to 18 months probation for obstructing government operations.

The charges arose after Steven Hickey was given work release on a separate seven-day jail sentence. He allegedly returned 45 minutes late and under the influence of alcohol.

In the current case, District Judge Julie Smith also sentenced him to 15 days in jail in May and September of 2019 and January and May of 2020.

She ordered continuous alcohol monitoring for Hickey.
