Probation Ordered After Meth Found At Jail

FALLS CITY – Troy Liberty, 43, was sentenced to 36 months probation after entering a guilty plea to possession of methamphetamine at the Richardson County jail.

Court records say Liberty bragged to inmates in September that he had meth with his property in the jail’s secure locker and deputies say a plastic bag with meth was found stuffed inside a shoe.

The case had been one mentioned by Sheriff Don Pounds as reason to encourage thorough searches of suspects by arresting officers. He said although the illegal drugs were not accessible to inmates, they should have been found in Liberty’s belongings.
