Probation Ordered in Gage County Drug Distribution Case

BEATRICE – A 21-year-old man convicted in Gage County of attempted possession with intent to deliver drugs will serve three years on probation.

Austin Meyn (mine) was on probation in a county court case when he was arrested and charged.  Gage County Public Defender Lee Timan (TIE-mun) says the county court case was on lesser violations.

Both the state and defense recommended a three-year probation term be given in the case.

District Judge Rick Schreiner said Meyn’s criminal history bothered him, somewhat.

The judge warned Meyn, saying “you’re on the road to nowhere at this point”. During probation, Meyn will be subject to specialized substance abuse supervision.
