AUBURN – Nemaha County Republicans will trim down the list of candidates for county board today.
There are three candidates seeking the Republican nomination for the district 1 seat being vacated by Commissioner Bob Hutton. Candidates are Michael Hall of Nemaha and Eric Shelton and Jim Biaggi of rural Auburn.
Democrat Mike Sullwold automatically advances to the general election in November.
There are also three candidates seeking the Republican nomination for district 3 county commissioner, including incumbent Marvin Bohling. Challengers are Greg Cook and Larry Holtzman, both of Auburn.
Democrat Michael Weiss advances to the general election.
Republicans will also nominate a candidate for county assessor. Incumbent Mallory Lempka is challenged by Wendy Hemmer. The nominee will be unopposed in the general election.
Both Republican and Democratic candidates for county treasurer, Debora Heidzig and Jana Gerdes, advance.
