Search of High Street Home in Beatrice, Results in Two Arrests

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police arrested two persons on suspicion of drug violations, following a search warrant served on a residence in the 15-hundred block of High Street, last Thursday.

An investigator says the men arrested are identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Umphenour and 34-year-old Jered Lockwood.

Umphenour was arrested for alleged possession and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Lockwood was detained for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The warrant was served at around 6:40 p.m.  During the search, authorities found 2.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine in a plastic bag, along with several pipes and syringes.   They also found three scales that had suspected drug residue on them.

Umphenour is suspected of making three sales of methamphetamine during the week.   Lockwood acknowledged to police that he observed Umphenour make narcotics transactions.

Umphenour resided at the home where the search was conducted, while Lockwood has a different address.
