Sheriff Says Accidental Rifle Shot Injures Louisville Man

PLATTSMOUTH – Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann reports an injury after a gun accidentally discharged.

Deputies and Louisville Rescue responded on Tuesday to a Mahoney Road residence, where a round from a rifle went through the living room wall.

The sheriff says 24-year-old Lawrence Schram of Louisville was entering his garage when another resident, 24-year-old Andrew Urban, was inside the residence with the rifle. A round fired from the weapon went through the wall and struck the side of the garage door.

Schram was struck in the upper chest by what is believed to be debris from the bullet exiting the garage door opening.

Schram was transported by Lifenet t o University of Nebraska Medical Center. This incident is still under investigation
