Sheriff Says Vehicles Traveled Down Highway “Stuck Together”

PLATTSMOUTH –  Cass County Sheriff William  Brueggemann reports that a highway collision Sunday involving a semi-trailer and pickup may have been intentional.

Emergency crews responded to Highway 75 and Young Road shortly after 1 p.m.

Investigators say a northbound Peterbilt freight truck hit the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 60-year-old William Sharp of Plattsmouth.

The two vehicles became stuck together and continued traveling on Highway 75 for about a half mile before they separated.

The driver of the freight truck, 59-year-old Richard Wilson of Avoca, told deputies he believed Sharp pulled in front of him as he pulled from Highway 1 onto Highway 75.

The sheriff says charges are pending against Wilson.
