Shoplifting Investigation Leads To Arrest On Meth Charge

NEBRASKA CITY – A shoplifting investigation in Nebraska City Saturday led to an arrest on drug charges including allegations of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Walmart security called police to report suspicion that 28-year-old Chantell Cashatt of Brock attempted to leave the store with unpaid items.

Police searched Cashatt’s personal bag and say two pipes with residue were found.
On further search, police found six small plastic bags with similar markings. One bag field tested for meth.

An arrest affidavit says police later located a bag containing meth inside a bag of marijuana. Two more bags of suspected meth were found inside a glasses case.

Store employees told police that Cashatt was observed putting pet supplies and glitter into her bag.
