Some Immigrants Back in O’Neill Wednesday Night

O’NEILL – Some of the O’Neill detainees were allowed back into town late Wednesday.

A van load of workers detained in the raid were returned to town by about 10 p-m, where they were allowed to reunite with family members.

It was unclear, though, whether the workers had been released or bonded out…or whether they would be returned to custody.

Officials with Immigration Customs Enforcement said that of the 133 workers suspected of being in the country illegally, some will be issued notices to appear before an immigration judge and released, while those with criminal backgrounds will remain in ICE custody.
