State Patrol Plans AppleJack Enforcement

Never drive impaired or distracted

- Cpt. Lance Rogers

LINCOLN  – The Nebraska State Patrol is planning a special enforcement in Otoe County this weekend.

The enforcement, which is intended to reduce alcohol-related crashes and the
potential for injuries or fatalities, will run from Sept. 15 to 17 in conjunction with Nebraska City’s AppleJack Festival.

Troopers will conduct saturation patrols and vehicle checks in and around Nebraska City during the enforcement period.

“The AppleJack Festival is a great event for Southeast Nebraska,” said Captain Lance Rogers, Commander, Troop H. “We encourage drivers to voluntarily follow traffic safety laws, wear seat belts, and never drive impaired or distracted.”

The special enforcement is made possible thanks in part to a grant for $2,375 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
