Tecumseh Prisoner Gets More Time For Assault On Guard

TECUMSEH – Tecumseh prison inmate Stephen Knott has been sentenced to five to 10 years more in prison after assaulting a prison guard in July of 2017.

The sentence is to be served after the 12-year sentence he is serving for false imprisonment and violation of protection orders in Platte County. He had been eligible for parole in 2024.

In 2017, the Nebraska Corrections Department reported that two staff members received serious, non-life threatening injuries requiring medical treatment. The state did not release the names of any suspects.

A press release at that time said the inmates of one housing unit initially refused to return to their cells, but did so without the use of force.
