Three-Vehicle Collision On Highway 75 Near Auburn

AUBURN – Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-car collision on Highway 75 north of Auburn.
The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Chevy Cobalt driven by Cody Humm of Johnson had stopped in the northbound lane attempting to make a left turn on Industrial Park Road on Road 730.
A Ford van driven by Shelby Barnard of Beatrice was in the right northbound lane and was being followed by a Chevy Avalanche driven by Shayne Steria of Auburn.
Investigators say Steria attempted to pass the van on the left northbound lane, but struck the Cobalt and the side of the van.
Humm and a passenger were transported to the hospital.
Barnard was transporting six students and an adult from Wymore Southern to Peru State College for a field trip. None of the van occupants were injured.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Auburn rescue, Auburn fire, Peru Fire and Rescue and the department of roads assisted with the accident.
