SIDNEY – Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope reports a drug arrest resulting from a traffic stop.
The sheriff says the county’s K9 unit stopped a vehicle on Highway 275 near Filmore Street in Sidney.
Deputies arrested 49-year-old Sean Thumann of DeWitt, Neb.
Thumann is suspected of possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. He was held on a $1,300 bond.
In a separate case, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports a driving under the influence arrest after a motorist assist on Interstate 29 early Sunday morning.
A sheriff’s office press release says a car left the road, where deep snow helped bring the car to a stop. Deputies got into the car and put the vehicle’s transmission into park.
The sheriff reports that the driver fell asleep before leaving the road.
