Twin River Student Detained after Threatening Text

GENOA –  A Twin River official says a student has been detained after a text message that contained a possible threat to the school.

Twin River Superintendnet Dr. John Weidner says they received word from a neighboring school, that one of their students had received a text message from a Twin River student containing a possible threat.

Weidner says the school took the necessary safety precautions and called law enforcement to the school. The Nebraska State Patrol and Nance County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and Weidner said they were able to locate and detain the student who sent the message.

The school was running under regular schedule as of 10:30 am.
