DAVENPORT, NE – The Thayer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury accident about three miles east of Davenport on Wednesday morning around 7 a.m.
A 17-year-old female driver was traveling eastbound on Nebraska Highway 4. The female driver overcorrected after slipping off of the shoulder. Her vehicle crossed the centerline, and collided with a westbound mail delivery truck.
The female’s vehicle went into the north ditch and rolled several times. No injuries were reported. Fortunately, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Thayer County authorities say this serves as an important reminder for everyone to buckle up every time they get behind the wheel.
