BEATRICE – Gage County honored another of the county’s veterans of the armed services, on Wednesday.
Roland “Red” Timmerman served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman First Class, serving from April, 1951 to January 20th, 1955.
Gage County Board Chairman Myron Dorn said Timmerman won four medals for his service during Korean War time.

Timmerman told county officials he was pleased to have served his country, and he thanked county officials for the honor. Timmerman served in the Headquarters Squadron, 30th Air Division.
Veterans honored by the county receive a certificate of appreciation and small gifts, from the county. The county has honored several World War Two, Korean and Vietnam War veterans since the start of the recognition program.
